How can I train as a Practitioner?
Answer
Interested in training in Emotional Freedom Techniques?
Please note that Gary Craig's online certification programme finished on 15 March 2010. Anyone who holds an EFT-cert is welcome to apply to be Grandfathered into the AAMET. The application form can be found here.
AAMET certifies it's Trainers to teach Emotional Freedom Techniques. AAMET trainers have to follow a core syllabus and sign up to Codes of Conduct & Ethics as well as Training Regulations and professional development/mentoring. Students can be assured that they are receiving the highest level of training that will be recognised by major insurance companies and external providers.
All Trainers must notify the Membership Secretary at listings@aamet.org of ALL students who have obtained their Practitioner status at Levels 2 & 3
The process to become an AAMET Certified EFT Practitioner is given below. Please read this information first.
- To find an AAMET Trainer near you, please go to the end of this page.
- Some Trainers offer extra content or add extra criteria and prices will vary. You are therefore advised to make comparisons to suit your budget and requirements.
- If you have a complaint about a Trainer or their course content, please download the Complaints form and send it by post or email to Ethics Committee at ethicscomm@aamet.org You do not need to be a member of the AAMET to send in a complaint.
1. Students take an EFT Level 1 course with an AAMET Certified Trainer of their choice. The AAMET recommends this as a 1 day course and should follow the AAMET Level 1 syllabus (see below). During this course, Students are monitored to assess their competence. If the trainer notes any difficulties or obstacles that may prevent them progressing as an EFT Practitioner, they may offer them a refresher course or support them to achieve their goal. The student will be informed of what is required by their Trainer.
2. Students take an EFT Level 2 course with an AAMET Certified Trainer of their choice. The AAMET recommends this as a 2 day course and should follow the AAMET Level 2 syllabus (see below). During this course, Students are monitored to assess their competence and suitability if they wish to progress further. For those who wish to train as a Practitioner:-
a. Students are given or sent a Multiple Choice Test paper after the Level 2 course for them to complete, and return to their Trainer. The pass mark for this paper is 80% or greater.
b. Students are required to submit minimum of 3 case studies that are of an acceptable quality to their trainer after the Level 2 course. The Trainer will return the cases studies marked with their comments. Students should be given or sent an AAMET sample Case Study in advance. This details the case study requirements.
The Multiple Choice Test and the 3 case studies are a minimum requirement and many trainers ask for more than this but they must be achievable and realistic. Students are at liberty to shop around for the training they can afford.
Once the student has passed the Multiple Choice Test and the Case Studies and any additional requirements the AAMET Trainer may have, the AAMET trainer will then award the student their AAMET Practitioners Certificate.
Once the AAMET Practitioner Certificate has been awarded, the Trainer will notify the Membership Secretary at listings@aamet.org and the newly qualified EFT Practitioner may then register themselves on the AAMET website at Practitioner level.
If the trainer notes any difficulties or obstacles that may prevent the student obtaining EFT Practitioner status, they may offer them a refresher course or support them to achieve their goal. The student will be informed by their Trainer what is required in order for them to obtain certification
All AAMET Practitioners have an ongoing requirement for Mentoring and Continuous Professional Development. You can find further details here..
