Do I have to join the EFT Register?

No you don't have to but it may help to understand why the EFT Register is part of AAMET.
Major improvements were desperately needed to the old website but because sponsors had pulled out, there was no money available to make these changes. At the same time the ex-Chairman (Tam) expressed a desire to retire from AAMET and suggested using the EFT Register instead.
This was too complex so the new Chairperson was tasked with sourcing an affordable website developer who could design and build a new website. Adding features from the Register to the AAMET site such as Google map, local search facility, events listings etc would have taken longer to build and would have cost a lot of money which of course AAMET didn't have. The option was taken to link the EFT Register to the AAMET site instead and give members the option of joining both. Costs were minimised to make it affordable to members.
The EFT Register is for European members and offers you your own Googlemap and enhanced profile. Plus if you sign up to the Featured Listing which is available to AAMET members for HALF PRICE of £20*, you can also advertise your courses and events for FREE.
Proceeds from the EFT Register go towards improvements and maintenance of the site.
